Common terms in the recycled plastic industry

1. Recycled materials - leftover materials in plastic molding processing or waste plastics that have lost product image and other market sources, which can be reused for manufacturing low-quality products after appropriate treatment

2. Recycled plastics - Plastics Based on recycled materials

3. Nozzle material refers to the waste formed by the runner, corners and unqualified products in the production process of injection molded products

4. machine head material refers to the leakage material or transition material in the production process of extruded products and the cleaning material when the injection molding machine is empty

5. Sub brand material - plastic raw materials with unqualified performance due to the change of brand or variety during the synthesis of plastic raw materials

6. Submerged material - refers to materials with a specific gravity greater than 1 g/cubic centimeter. This refers specifically to plastic materials containing mineral filling (polyolefin filling)

7. Floating material refers to materials with a specific gravity less than 1 g/cubic centimeter. Here, it refers specifically to plastic materials (polyolefins) that do not contain mineral filling

8. Flower material - refers to multicolor miscellaneous materials

9. grinding material - powdery material obtained by grinding plastic waste through a plastic grinder

10. granulated material - plastic material produced by the granulator. With the different granulation devices, the particle shape is also different, mainly hemispherical, cylindrical, square, etc

11. Leftover materials - all materials except products in plastic molding and processing operations. For example, burrs, sprue impurities, shunt impurities, overflow, parison residues, waste products, etc. Thermoplastic leftovers can be recycled, while thermosetting leftovers cannot be reused

12. recycled materials (recycled materials) - also known as crushed recycled materials. It is the waste materials such as runner material, gate material, product flash material and unqualified products produced in injection molding, blow molding and extrusion molding. The output results of the experimental results can be set arbitrarily: force value and elongation

13. Spring material - the common name of thermoplastic elastomer in the recycled material industry, as the terminal demand will gradually increase, it is used to increase the toughness of recycled materials. Some places are also called "ground jumping"

14. dead material - material that does not plasticize after heating. Generally refers to cross-linked thermoplastic. Some places are also called "raw materials"

15. Melt index (MI) - the mass value of thermoplastic resin melt passing through the standard capillary tube within 10 minutes at a certain temperature and load, expressed in grams/10 minutes. It is a measure of the fluidity of thermoplastic resin when it melts. The higher the value, the better the fluidity during melting, but the tensile strength decreases

16. noise material generally refers to ABS, PS and other miscellaneous materials with metal sound

17. Baba material refers to the waste containing more impurities cleaned during the replacement of filter

18. Bubble material - plastic pellets formed by plastic pellet mechanism

19. Primary material - material obtained from crushing or granulation of nozzle material, machine head material, leftover material, etc

20. resin - polymers that usually have softening or melting range when heated, tend to flow under the action of external force when softened, and are solid, semi-solid or pseudosolid at room temperature. Sometimes it can also be a liquid polymer. In the plastic industry, it broadly refers to any polymer as a plastic substrate
